My name is Kim McWilliams, Jr. My wife and I have two children who attend EVSC schools. I am a lifelong resident of Evansville, IN. I attended Thompkins Elementary/Middle School and am a proud graduate of Central High School. I continued my studies at The University of Evansville, earning an Elementary Education degree. In 1995 I began my teaching career at Cedar Hall, where I taught Title I, third grade, Physical Education, and also served as counselor. While at Cedar Hall I completed my master’s degree in School Counseling. I was able to return to my alma mater, Central High School as a counselor in 2008. I am excited to be Assistant Principal at Lincoln School beginning fall of 2011.
My enthusiasm for participating in sports and coaching has been ongoing. I currently coach varsity football at Central. I have also coached varsity swimming at Central and 4th and 5th grade basketball at Cedar Hall. I realize the impact adult mentors have on students and their achievements. As a coach I have been fortunate to work with many student athletes and their families fostering a competitive spirit and sense of community pride.
As a member of EVSC’s Family Engagement team I am working with parents to mentor other parents. Through intentional acts of engagement both students and parents will work to promote ownership over their educational experiences. I am committed to successfully guide students and their families in a meaningful way from early childhood to graduation.
I am excited to be a part of the Learning Leadership Cadre. I look forward to the opportunity to engage in best practices and continue to build positive relationships with families, students, and community.
